The 2008 UjENA Jam Puerto Vallarta is going to be the biggest Jam ever. We are anticipating more than 650 participatants including 200 models and photographers. UjENA and over 50 partner companies will be awarding $200,000 in prizes, contracts, trips and gifts at the 3rd Annual Image Awards being presented at the Jam August 31.
In additional to the featured UjENA model and photographer search there will be more than 50 other companies casting for talent. This Jam has 26 different featured events and many of these are open to guests and locals.

We have 26 exciting events lined up for PV. "The Ujena Jam has become one of the most important events in PV. It has become an event the media can not ignore. This added attention gives our models and photographers more exposure," stated Bob Anderson, Jam Director
FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY
Jam models and photographers will be working literally from sun-up til sundown everyday of the Jam beginning August 23. UjENA Jam partners and guests will be observing, judging and assisting at the photo shoots. The best images will be submitted for judging. The photo shoots are a great way to discover new talent and also win prizes, awards and contracts to the winners.
1. 2009 UjENA Model of the Year Finals
Twenty models will be selected to compete in the Final Shootout. Winning models from the UjENA Jams in Cancun, Sitges Spain and Guadalajara will have already qualified. Other models in Puerto Vallarta (PV) will be judged on ten images taken in PV, their score from the Judged Location Shoot (a secret location TBA) and their UjENA Talent profile score. The 20 models will be photographed in the shoot by the top 10 photographers in two 20-minute sessions. After the UjENA Final Shootout, these finalists will be interviewed. The winning Ujena Model of the Year (and runner-up) will be announced at the Image Awards August 31. This year's winner receives a $5200 UjENA 2009 Modeling Contract. $1000 will be paid in PV and the balance will be paid $350 per month for 12 months in 2009. (Should the winner for any reason not be able to fulfill her obligations the runner-up will take her place.)
2. 2009 UjENA Photographer of the Year Finals

3. UjENA Jam Judged Location Shoot
All competing models and photographers will be taken to a secret location. At that location, models and photographers will pair up and take images. UjENA staff photographers will work with competing models and competing photograhers will work with staff models. Each model and photographer will be scored on technique. This provides an opportunity for UjENA and partner companies to see you in action. The entry fee is included in your Jam package.
4. 3rd Annual UjENA Image Awards
will be bigger than ever. UjENA and more than 50 Jam partners will be honoring their selected winners from the weeklong events. Each winner will be presented the coveted Image Award and over $200,000 in cash, prizes, trips, contracts and gifts will be awarded. The Image Awards show will be held August 31 in the ballroom at the NH Krystal. The evening will also feature a fashion show and entertainment. 5. UjENA Jam Talent and Partner Expo and Casting
The "Jam Expo" is where everyone meets and mingles. Models and photographers will be booking photo shoots, Jam partners will be doing castings, Ujena and partners will display their product and services, the Makeup For Print competition happens here, and so do the Ujena Talent Workshops. There will also be fashion shows held throughout the day and there will be an Internet Cafe. Free entry with your VIP Jam Pass $30 per day at the door without the VIP pass.

6. UjENA Talent Workshops
There will be nine informative one-hour workshops for photographers, models and anyone interested in the exciting fashion industry. Confirmed speakers include two-time UjENA winning photograher Bruce Brandon, UjENAchief stylist Catherine Cross, UjENA staff model Trisha Tompkins and UjENA CEO and chief photographer Bob Anderson. Free entry with your VIP Jam Pass $25 per workshop without the VIP pass.

7. 3rd Annual Puerto Vallarta UjENA 5k
For more than 20 years, the UjENA 5k run/walk has been part of the Jam. All models and photographers interested in being selected for the top UjENA awards are required to participate. Fitness is very important to UjENA and this event also brings everyone together. Every Jam offers something to the hosting community, and the 5k is an open event for anyone who wants to participate. $1000 in cash prizes, medals to the first 250 finishers, t-shirts for the first 400 finishers and additional prizes will be awarded. First competing model and photographer wins an UjENA Image Award and $100 cash. All competing models will be provided a special running outfit for free. Entry fee for competing and staff models and photographers is included in the Jam package. $20 or 200 pesos entry for everyone else. Save 10% when six or more enter together. 8. 2nd Annual Ujena Jam Team Competition
Some competing models and photographers have been sponsored and received scholarships from different teams. Last year AmericaModel.com put together a team and won the team award. This Image Award is given to the team who receives the most Image Awards.
9. 2nd Annual 2008 Makeup Artist For Print Competition
All makeup artists competing will gain valuable images from the models and photographers, working on their sets. They will enrich their portfolio and build their networking contacts, cast with partners and attend VIP after parties. Catherine Cross, UjENA public relations director and UjENA head makeup artist will cast the MUA’s for the UjENA image awards. UjENA will provide a studio set at the expo for all models to register for their before and after shots for the MUA’s. The artists will work with the photographers to get the before and after shoots of the models. The models are available
for the MUA’s to provide the best glamour style images. It is up to the MUA’s to book and choose their own appointments. MUA’s must submit ten
images for judging of five different models with the before and after makeup and turn it in on a CD. The images will be judged and the finalists selected. The top makeup artists will join models and photographers for the judged on location Jam shoot out. They will also be the official MUA’s for The Final Night Show UjENA Image Awards, and one will be selected to receive the coveted Ujena image award, an all expenses paid exotic location shoot with the Ujena crew, and $1000 cash. 10. 3rd Annual UjENA Jam Golf Tournament
August 29, 2008. The tournament will be held on one of the best courses in Puerto Vallarta. The El Tigre course is as tough as it is beautiful. This exciting event, which also includes competing bikini models on the course, just keeps getting bigger. Great prizes and one model will be selected and awarded the coveted Image Award. Entry fee is $125 per player and is not included in your Jam land package.
11. Bisbee's Off Shore Ujena Jam - 2nd Annual Ujena Fishing Tournament
August 28-29, 2008. $20,000 cash prizes will be awarded. ($10,000 for the largest Marlin, $5,000 for the largest Tuna, and $5,000 for the largest Dorado. A Ujena photo team (model and photographer) will be put on many of the boats (optional) and one model and photographer will be selected by the anglers to receive the Image Award and $1000 Jam Scholarship for Cabo (based on images taken). 13. Puerto Vallarta Off The Wall Soccer Tournament
Off The Wall Soccer and Ujena Swimwear. Off The Wall Soccer is one of the premiere indoor soccer centers in Northern California. Over 200 players from across the US and Mexico will participate the tournament August 28-30, 2008. Teams from several arenas across the United States, Mexico, PASL teams and perhaps an MISL team or two may participate. There will be men's and coed's divisions. 14. Ujena 50m Freestyle Swim
For many years the Bikini Jam incuded a two lap swim event (about 50m) and we have decided to bring it back. The event is open to all Jam participants (men and women). Entry fee is included in your Jam package. Prizes go to the top three female, male and masters (over 40). Image Award to first competing model and photographer.
15 Ujena One Mile Extreme Hike
This point-to-point course will be challenging and details will not be announced until just before the start. Entry fee is included in your Jam package. Prizes will go to the top three female, male and masters (over 40). Image Award to first competing model and photographer.
16. Ujena Fitness Body Challenge
For many Jams, we held a fitness challenge event. We are bringing it back, but with different events. There will be both a male and female division. Participants have to enter and complete all three required events which are: the Ujena 5k, Ujena 50m Swim, and the Ujena Extreme Hike. Your finishing place in each event will be added together to determine the male, female and masters (over 40) winners. Prizes go to the top three in each division. Image Award to first competing model and photographer.
17. UjENA Woman of the Year
This event is open to all females, not just models. Each contestant must complete at least two lifestyle events (5k, swim, hike, golf, soccer, fishing or makeup) and submit five images taken at the Jam (can be modeling, party or candid photos), a list of recent achievments over the last two years, and a 200 words or less essay on why you should win. The top ten will be selected, interviewed and the winner will be selected. A $1000 UjENA Contract and Image Award will be awarded. (We are looking for a woman who can also be included on staff for upcoming Jams. Perfect event for a customer or any woman who would like to be part of Ujena.)
18. UjENA Man of the Year
This event is open to all males, not just models. Each contestant must complete at least three lifestyle events (5k, swim, hike, golf, soccer or fishing), submit five images taken at the Jam (can be modeling, party or candid photos), a list of recent achievments over the last two years, and an essay in 200 words or less on why you should win. The top ten will be selected, interviewed and the winner chosen. A $1000 Ujena Contract and Image Award goes to the winner. (We are looking for a man who can also be included on staff for upcoming Jams. This is the perfect event for model contestant boyfriends or any guy who would like to be part of UjENA.)

19. 5th Annual UjENA Jam Costume Party
This has become a regular event at all UjENA Jams.Everyone gets dressed up to have fun. Prizes for the best costumes.
20. 4th Annual UjENA Clubkini Party
This party too has become a regular event at all Ujena Jams. We have teamed up with Maxim en enspanol for this party. They select up to five Maxim Clubkini Hotties at each event and feature them in an upcoming issue of Maxim. All models must wear either a Ujena clubkini or bikini top to be admitted.
21. 2nd Annual Puerto Vallarta Beach Party
This is a fun party right on the beach. Be sure to wear your favorite Ujena bikini to this party because there will be plenty of photographers around. Fun games and prizes too!
22. 3rd Annual UjENA Foam Party
presented by C1RCA. Always a fun party and C1RCA knows how to throw a good party.
23. 3rd Annual Jam Party by the Sea
This day party in downtown Puerto Vallarta has become a real favorite. The main event is simply photo shoots. This gives everyone in town a chance to see what the UjENA Jam is all about. And of course, it offers a great location for images.
24. Media Martini Party
This is your first chance to meet the media. Magazines, film and newspapers crews are on hand to meet our contestants.
NEW THEME PARTIES
25. Jam Networking Parties
At some of the Jam parties it just gets too noisy to network. This is why we have set up three of these parties. These parties will be held for up to two hours before the Costume, Clubkini and Dance parties.
26. Ujena Dance Party
Are you a good dancer? Grab a partner and hit the dance floor. Any freestyle dancing that does not include a pole will be considered. Prizes for the top three couples. Open to all Jam participates.
HOW TO BE A COMPETING JAM MODEL OR PHOTOGRAPHER
The UjENA Jam is the place to get noticed, build portfolios, network with leaders in the industry, gain valuable knowledge in the workshops, compete in exciting events, get exposure, win cash and prizes from UjENA and partnering companies, and have FUN.
The first thing you need to do is post your profile at Ujena Talent. There is no cost to join Ujena Talent. Once your profile is approved, and can get signed up. If you can not afford to cover your Jam package costs and your airline, Ujena has set up some programs to help you. Check out the Jam Scholarship program.
