Fashion modeling and photography is a very competitive industry. It is
very hard to break into the industry, be noticed and make a living. At
UjENA we have found there is a lot of talent out there that just needs a
break. We have established a new program to help, and it's called
the UjENA Jam Scholarship Program.
The UjENA Jam
is the best place for aspiring models and
photographers to be discovered or take their careers to the next level.
This is the key reason we started the UjENA Jam. The Jam is a
major fashion event where models, photographers and sponsors come
together to take photos and to network. Over $150,000 worth of prizes,
trips and contracts were awarded last year in Puerto Vallarta.
Media companies like About.com, Bennett Productions, Maxim en espanol and
Naked News exposed the UjENA Jam and participants to millions. Take a look at
some of the clips on UjENA TV
UjENA Jam Partners like Coca Cola, One Model Place, C1RCA
"Committed to Skateboarding," Maxx Wireless, Bennett Productions, and
Maxim en espanol selected winners offering them cash, trips and exposure.
"I had such a blast at the UjENA Jam in Puerto Vallarta.
I made so many connections! I would recommend the UjENA Jam for all aspiring
models, as it is a great way to get a variety of professional pictures and
meet industry leaders who can help move your career to the next level,"
wrote Francesca.
"I really had a blast at the UjENA Jam. I met so many wonderful people
and made many new friendships. The event and images that came from it has
really helped to launch my career and move it to the next level," says
Kelly Marie Szabo.
The UjENA Jam is the best place to launch or move
your career to the next level, however each year we hear from talented
models and photographers that don't have all the funds necessary to
participate.
This is why we have established this new UjENA Image Awards
Scholarship program. During the next year we are holding three UjENA
Jams: Spain (in May), Puerto Vallarta Mexico (in August) and
Australia (in January). These events and other UjENA Jams feed
into the annual UjENA Jam Image Awards.
You or your company can be a Scholarship Donor and help send a
participant to the Jam. You can either pick your own participant
(from the UjENA Talent profiles) or you can let us pick them for you.
Scholarships can be purchased in units of $100 each.
It only takes eight
units for a participant to attend the UjENA Jam (air fare not
included). Some may want to give a Scholarship to one participant and
others may want to spread out the units.
Mark Haas
purchased 14 units ($1400) and gave them all to Kelly
Szabo. Extra Mile Productions purchased 7 units ($700) and is offering
seven different models one unit each. If the donor has a UjENA Talent
profile an acknowledgment is listed on the Donor page. The donor does not
need to have a UT profile like Jennifer King who purchased 3 units ($300) and
gave one unit each to three participants. Some donors want to remain
anonymous to protect their privacy, already three anonymous donors have
purchased a total of 50 units ($5,000).
We have made it easy to participate in this program and all funds can
be deducted as a company marketing expense. When you
sign up, you
decide on how many units you want to purchase. You also tell us how
you want the units to be distributed (by listing UT number and number
of units each). Once your credit card is charged your
candidates will be notified by email. Your candidate has three days to
accept your scholarship (some may not need assistance or can not attend a
UjENA Jam) and once accepted your scholarship recipient will be
featured on your UT account. (Like the seven models
Extra Mile
Productions picked.)
This program was just launched February 16, 2007 and most of
the Candidates receiving the over $8,000 worth of scholarships are
just now being notified. Those selected will need to respond within
three days. Otherwise some of these scholarships will be given to
someone else. But from now on, UT members will not be featured until
they accept the Scholarship.
The UjENA Image Scholarship Units are good toward the UjENA
Jam fees and air fare to the Jam. Scholarship units have no cash value
and cannot be transferred or refunded for any reason.
Participants receiving scholarship units are not obligated to their
donor in any way. However, we encourage recipients to offer promotional
time, services, or photos in exchange for the scholarships. However, many
donors are not looking for anything in exchange.
